Students can choose a format that suits their interests and preferred way of learning.

This summer, Innovate Forge Academy invites young people to discover challenges, explore creative ideas, develop practical solutions and share what they have learned.

Our summer experiences bring together practical learning, creative thinking and purposeful challenges.

Whether students enjoy building things, collaborating with others or developing a digital idea independently, they can explore an experience that suits their interests and preferred learning format.

Our coaching-led approach encourages students to investigate problems, develop their own ideas, experiment, communicate and reflect.

Across the programmes, students have opportunities to develop design thinking, problem-solving, communication, leadership, technology and entrepreneurial capabilities. Each experience offers a different way to participate, create and grow.

Chadstone: a broad innovation experience that may include physical inventions, robotics and digital creations.

Online: the live and self-paced programmes focus specifically on designing and presenting digital solutions.

Forge Innovation Camp — Chadstone

Five connected days of design thinking, team challenges, leadership, communication, technology, entrepreneurship and a final Forge Challenge Showcase. Students may explore robotics, physical prototyping and digital creation through approved activities.

Through coaching, mentoring and a supportive learning environment, we encourage young people to discover their strengths, develop confidence, build meaningful relationships and take ownership of their learning.

Coaching

Discover what you can do.

Educators can guide learners with thoughtful questions, encouragement, goals, constructive feedback, reflection and practical challenges—supporting independent problem-solving rather than simply supplying answers.

Example: A coding coach helps a student understand and correct their own programming mistakes instead of simply providing answers.

Mentoring

Explore who you can become.

Appropriate educators and mentors can help learners explore interests, strengths, development goals and future pathways through positive role modelling and age-appropriate agency.

Example: A mentor helps a student connect an interest in technology to possible future studies, projects or career opportunities.

Pastoral Care

Feel safe, valued and supported.

The intended approach centres respectful, inclusive educational relationships, listening, encouragement, belonging, appropriate parent involvement and recognition when additional support is needed.

Example: An educator listens to a student’s concern, responds within professional boundaries and involves appropriate adults when support or safeguarding action is needed.

What are the three summer options?

Families can compare the Chadstone in-person Forge Innovation Camp, the proposed live online Digital Innovation Challenge and the proposed self-paced Digital Innovation Challenge.

What is the difference between the Chadstone camp and Digital Innovation Challenge?

Chadstone is a broad innovation experience that may include physical inventions, robotics and digital creation. Both online programmes focus specifically on designing and presenting a digital solution.

Does my child need coding experience?

No confirmed coding prerequisite is published. Activities are intended to provide structure for beginners and suitable extension for more experienced learners, subject to the approved cohort and tools.

Will students use robotics?

Approved robotics activities may support the Chadstone camp. Robotics equipment is not required for the live online or self-paced Digital Innovation Challenge.

Is every online project digital?

Yes. The minimum expected online outcome is an age-appropriate digital prototype or demonstrator. A fully functioning or publicly deployed product is not required.

Does the self-paced course include live Zoom sessions?

No. Live Zoom sessions and live teamwork are not automatically included in the self-paced experience.

What support is included in self-paced learning?

The support package is still proposed. Educator review, response times and any optional group session must be approved before enrolment opens.

What will students create?

The outcome depends on the programme: an appropriate physical, robotic or digital prototype at Chadstone; a team digital prototype online; or an individual digital prototype and portfolio through self-paced learning.

What are the confirmed dates and times?

The existing Chadstone booking record remains 11–15 January 2027. Live online is proposed for 18–22 January 2027, with daily times to be confirmed. Self-paced access dates and duration are also to be confirmed.

How do we register or enrol?

The approved Chadstone booking page remains available from its programme page. Live online and self-paced programmes use the Academy enquiry workflow until their delivery and enrolment arrangements are approved.
