Parent FAQ
Yes. Live online programmes such as the Applied Computer Science Academy are taught in real time by an educator via Zoom and are never pre-recorded. Self-paced experiences are clearly labelled and work differently.
Applied Computer Science Academy runs Wednesdays from 6:00–7:00pm, Confident Communicators from 7:15–8:15pm and Young Leaders from 8:15–9:15pm during 2027 terms. Our summer Digital Innovation Challenge is also available live online or self-paced through Forge.
A computer (laptop or desktop) with a reliable internet connection, a webcam and a microphone. Classes are BYOD friendly.
Live online classes use Zoom.
No prior experience is needed for the beginner track of the Applied Computer Science Academy. Experienced learners are challenged at an appropriate level.
Classes run in small groups so students can ask questions and receive feedback. Contact us for current group sizes.
Yes. Live online programmes are open to students Australia-wide. Class times are shown in Melbourne time.
Live online classes are scheduled sessions with an educator. Self-paced experiences let students work independently through Forge at their own pace and do not include live class time unless stated.
