Help your child develop confidence in speaking, listening, storytelling and presenting ideas. Through interactive activities, guided practice and constructive feedback, students build communication skills in a supportive small-group environment.

A clear journey from first practice to final reflection.
This introductory term sequence runs across one term, and later terms build on it with new topics and more complex projects rather than repeating the same activities.

Students participate in introductory communication games and establish personal speaking goals.

Speaking clearly and sharing simple ideas
Students practise expressing thoughts using clear words and complete ideas.

Listening, asking questions and taking turns
Students develop conversation habits through guided partner activities.
- Session 4
Using expression and body language
Students explore how facial expression, posture and voice communicate meaning.

Telling someone about an experience
Students organise and share a simple personal or imaginative account.

Speaking in a small group
Students practise participating in group discussions and short speaking activities.

Preparing a short personal talk
Students select a topic, organise ideas and practise speaking.

Sharing, celebrating and reflecting
Students share their prepared talk in an appropriate setting and reflect on their development.

My Voice, My Story
Students prepare a short, age-appropriate talk about an interest, experience or something important to them. They may begin by sharing with a partner or small group before choosing how to present to a wider audience.

What if my child feels nervous speaking in front of others?
Speaking challenges are intended to be progressive and appropriate to the learner. Preparation, choice, constructive feedback and reflection are emphasised; no particular confidence outcome is guaranteed.
What happens during a typical session?
