Are the Australian and Singaporean online programs the same?
Yes. Both countries use one shared catalogue of instructor-led courses — Web Creators, Python Project Builders and Young AI App Builders — with the same five missions and learning outcomes, and both offer the Innovate Forge App — Self-Paced Learning Activities. Only dates, time zone, currency and support arrangements differ.
What is the difference between the Innovate Forge App and the instructor-led Zoom courses?
They are separate programs. The Innovate Forge App — Self-Paced Learning Activities offers independent activities, challenges and projects with a scheduled daily educator support window, and no fixed course timetable. Instructor-led Zoom courses are structured courses with their own curriculum, schedule and fee; they may use the Innovate Forge App for supporting activities and project work.
Does my child need previous coding experience?
No. The online courses are designed for beginners and progressing coders, subject to approved age bands. The Chadstone workshops need no coding or robotics experience.
Does my child need their own laptop?
Online courses need a computer with reliable internet. For Chadstone, equipment arrangements are confirmed through enrolment.
What will my child create in each course?
Web Creators: a small interactive website. Python Project Builders: a beginner/intermediate Python program. Young AI App Builders: a simple app prototype or interactive demonstrator.
Can beginners join Young AI App Builders?
Yes. It is an introductory app-design course that starts with ideas, users and sketches before any building.
Is AI used under instructor supervision?
AI is introduced through approved, age-appropriate tools with guidance on responsible use. Students learn that AI output can contain errors, and no unsupervised accounts or paid AI tools are required.
Can students from Singapore join Australian online sessions?
Families are welcome to ask. Australian sessions run on Melbourne time (AEDT), so please check the time difference before submitting an enquiry.
What dates and time zones apply?
Chadstone: 11–15 January 2027, 9:00 am–1:00 pm AEDT. Australia live online: 18–22 January 2027, 9:00–11:00 am AEDT. Australia self-paced: 11–22 January 2027. Singapore live online: three cohorts — 30 November–4 December, 7–11 December and 14–18 December 2026, 9:00 am–11:00 am SGT, with each of the three online programs running in every cohort. Singapore self-paced: 21 November – 31 December 2026.
Can students enrol in only one Chadstone workshop?
Yes. Each day is a complete, standalone workshop. Choose one day, several days or the whole week.
Do the Chadstone workshops require previous coding or robotics experience?
No. Each workshop is designed to be welcoming for newcomers.
Are projects or robots taken home?
Academy robotics equipment stays at the Academy. Students keep their learning, reflections and, where practical, their written or paper-based work.
Is a production-ready app guaranteed?
No. Students work towards an age-appropriate prototype or project in a supervised learning lab environment, not a production-ready product.
How does an expression of interest differ from a confirmed booking?
Submitting an enquiry lets us contact you once details are confirmed — it is not a booking and no payment is taken. Chadstone enrolment is open now through the booking page.
Can families continue their learning through regular Academy term programs?
Yes. Our term programs in technology, communication, writing and leadership are a natural next step — ask us which pathway fits.
